 VOLSET FOUNDATION   (The Voluntary Services Trust Team) was founded in 1997 in a volunteer general assembly held in Nakaseke secondary school, Luwero district, Uganda. The founders were doctor Xeviers Mubiru (late) and Mr. Festus Bazira, who were both devoted to assisting aids clients and orphaned/needy children. Mubiru and Bazira were later joined by Mr. Samuel Tuhairwe, Mr. Josephus Musisi, Mrs. Mary Bazira, and Ms. Specioza Nabukenya.

 VOLSET is registered as a charitable CBO (Community Based Organization) with the Ministry of Gender & Social Development - Mukono district.


Our Vision

VOLSET FOUNDATION envisions a healthy self-sustaining society in Uganda whose members are strong, productive, educated, and self-respecting and who contributes to the ongoing well being of their communities

 Mission

 Our mission is the alleviation of human suffering caused by the HIV/AIDS pandemic, natural and man-made crises, and chronic poverty

  Aims and Objectives

 

  • Focus on education in the fields of community health, community outreach, youth life skills, and early childhood education
  • Developing community health awareness through training and education by establishing resource centres which are open to anybody who wants to access information on HIV/AIDS and Children's Rights
  • Have VOLSET recognized world-wide through international volunteers and stakeholders

VOLSET FOUNDATION collaborates with other organizations and individuals. If you would like to partner with VOLSET You are welcome regardless of religious or other affiliations.  Volset is a non-profit organization. 

  •  HIV/AIDS prevention through education and testing
  • Referrals to closer medical and counseling services for HIV/AIDS & STDs 
  • Devise means that will allow the community to become self sustainable

 Children and VOLSET

  •  Give holistic support/advocacy to orphans and needy children by giving them the opportunity to an education and health guidance
  • Community health/developmental services, workshops, and seminars in rural and isolated communities

  • Actively look for sponsors who are willing to support the education/health needs of the orphans and needy children
  •  Training Programs

     A wide range of training programs are carried out such as introduction to income generating activities for self-help projects, community health and sanitation in rural environments, HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, and others

      Management

    •  The General Assembly (GA) is the highest authority of the organization which meets once a year unless a need arises sooner.

    • The Management Board (MB) consists of 5 founders: director (chairman), administrator, secretary, treasurer, and partners/representatives.
